As a native Little Havanian I like to attend our neighborhood's Art + Culture event Viernes Culturales/Cultural Friday's to find local talent, artists and designers. One of my favorite spaces to visit is the Art Gallery Futurama 1637 which spotlights both Artist's and Designers alike, which is where I found Havana Mood. 

The Havana Mood Fashion brand was designed by the Cuban born Fashionista, Yasary Castrodad Diaz. Her collection is handmade and is assembled in Haiti by her production team. She creates the designs and her team makes the unique acrylic shapes using a special machine to bring her ideas to life giving it a transparent and glossy appearance. Staying true to her tropical roots, her collection features colorful shells and even a Haitian inspired necklace in bright red and blue with gold detail. Here are some of my favorite pieces from her collection.

The classic bride is a traditional bride that values simplicity; less is more is her motto. She is drawn to dresses with clean simple lines, silhouettes and detailing - nothing too fussy. If you wish to add a touch pizzaz I recommend adding a bridal sash or belt to your ensemble. One way of wearing a bridal belt - which I adore, is opting for a color that matches the color of your bridesmaids dresses; if your bridesmaids wear pink, choose a bridal belt of the same shade to create a cohesive ensemble that looks divine in wedding pictures. THE LUXE BRIDE

 

The luxe bride is the one that gravitates towards more elegantly sumptuous designs. There are various degrees to the luxe bride, while some brides want just a touch, others, want to be draped in it. THE BOHEMIAN BRIDE

The bohemian or boho chic bride is the free spirited millennial grandchild of the hippy bride. She is whimsical, wildly adventurous and is more in tune with nature as well as her spiritual self - and it's critical that these somewhat rustic elements be included in everything from her wedding dress to her accessories and even her wedding decor. She likes simple and ethereal silhouettes and may also show more skin than most opting for off the shoulder styles or beach wedding worthy backless gowns with both long sleeves - usually in lace - or with simple shoulder straps. Her look is ethereal yet unexpected, unconventional and gloriously exotic. 

To complete the look you'll need to focus on the details. The bohemian bride will not wear a regular princess crown, instead, she dons a flower crown and though your first thought may be roses, more exotic blossoms can give the outfit a more rustic and fantasy-like quality. THE ETHEREAL BRIDE

If you look up the word ethereal in the dictionary, you will find that it is defined as "extremely delicate and light in a way that seems too perfect for this world". Historically, the ethereal style has been traditionally popular in Roman times and in Greek mythology, hence the "goddess" title. Giving Thanks Everyday

Thanksgiving Day is looked upon as a day to get together with family and friends to eat, sometimes dance, have a couple of drinks and just enjoy ourselves. This is not a bad thing, especially when it comes to getting together with your loved ones. 

For the record...

   The word Thanksgiving means - "The act of giving thanks; grateful acknowledgment of benefits or favors, especially to God." (Dictionary.com)

Unfortunately...as humans we tend to primarily focus on the things that go wrong.

The Evolution of the leather jacket

For as long as I can remember, the leather jacket has been a symbol of Strength..."Tough Chic" if you will. We long for the drop in temperature to pull the long adored  Fashion  staple  out  of  our  closets.

When it comes to leather jackets, the most common color that comes to mind is Black; a black leather jacket exudes the essence of it's sense of strength which the Staple embodies. 

Studded and Crystallized are some of the embellishments which have come to adorn it. Belted and Textured have been some of the updates and experiments in the efforts to create new and interesting styles from the iconic staple. Recently though, there's been a surge in color boldness making for an interesting Fresh and Updated look.
