HAVANA MOOD FASHION

Model: Gabriella Ramirez @Carrachichi // Backdrop Design: @Azure_Design
Location: FUTURAMA ART GALLERIES - 1637 SW 8th Street, Miami, FL 33135

As a native Little Havanian I like to attend our neighborhood's Art + Culture event Viernes Culturales/Cultural Friday's to find local talent, artists and designers. One of my favorite spaces to visit is the Art Gallery Futurama 1637 which spotlights both Artist's and Designers alike, which is where I found Havana Mood

The Havana Mood Fashion brand was designed by the Cuban born Fashionista, Yasary Castrodad Diaz. Her collection is handmade and is assembled in Haiti by her production team. She creates the designs and her team makes the unique acrylic shapes using a special machine to bring her ideas to life giving it a transparent and glossy appearance. Staying true to her tropical roots, her collection features colorful shells and even a Haitian inspired necklace in bright red and blue with gold detail. Here are some of my favorite pieces from her collection.

As of lately, the designer has taken up painting as well.

If this collection had a theme song it would definitely be “Havana” by Camila Cabello.

TOP 6 Beautiful Bridal Looks courtesy of MUEE.COM

As my own wedding anniversary approaches, I look back at my humble yet beautiful little backyard wedding and though I will cherish that moment forever - I simply cannot wait to have my chance to do it all over again when we renew our vows. Fortunately, I know a lot more about fashion and styling than I did back then and I am currently planning my own dream vow renewal. In the meantime, I will share with you some wedding trends, looks and inspiration to help you imagine and plan for the wedding of your dreams. One thing to remember is that you don't need a large budget to do so, which is why I have teamed up with MUEE.COM to bring you the "TOP 6 Beautiful Bridal Looks for 2017" at a price that can provide you the elbow room you need to put together the wedding of your dreams.

#1

THE ROMANTIC BRIDE

When I think about romantic fabric materials, the one I feel strongest about is lace - and I'm not the only one, couture designers such as Dora Sasu, Zuhair Murad and Yolan Cris are known to choose lace when creating wedding dresses. You have to admit, there is something so intriguing about lace...it's delicate dance between demureness....and seduction, created by the mixing of fabric and flesh peeking through it's intricately beautiful designs. It is no wonder it has been recognized around the world as the ultimate fabric embodiment of femininity. The Romantic Bride instinctively gravitates towards this fabric because as a romantic at heart, she knows that love and passion go hand in hand and for her...lace is the only material coquette enough to express that. For more lace wedding dresses visit MUEE.COM.

#2
THE CLASSIC BRIDE

The classic bride is a traditional bride that values simplicity; less is more is her motto. She is drawn to dresses with clean simple lines, silhouettes and detailing - nothing too fussy. Her only desire is to look beautiful and elegant. Just remember, with the classic bride, details such as jewelry or other accessories are to be the focal points. If you wish to add a touch pizzaz I recommend adding a bridal sash or belt to your ensemble. There are different options ranging from showstopping bows which rest at the back of the waist and even trains to provide additional length to your gown, and then there are the simpler kind such as beaded and crystalized belts. One way of wearing a bridal belt - which I adore, is opting for a color that matches the color of your bridesmaids dresses; if your bridesmaids wear pink, choose a bridal belt of the same shade to create a cohesive ensemble that looks divine in wedding pictures. I've also seen them in blue as their something blue, and even in red for that subtle hint of drama. For more classic wedding dresses visit MUEE.COM.

#3
THE LUXE BRIDE

The luxe bride is the one that gravitates towards more elegantly sumptuous designs. There are various degrees to the luxe bride, while some brides want just a touch, others, want to be draped in it. The luxe bride can come off as extravagant, over the top and even borderline theatrical to traditional brides but that's who she is, she is a lover of glamour, opulence and luxury and a dress that looks off the rack simply will not do. Instead, details like sparkly crystals, sequins, beading, feathers, exquisite ruching, ruffles and silhouettes that add dimension are what gets her excited. MUEE.COM has a gorgeous selection of luxe gowns though you won't find them all in the bridal gown section. While browsing through their website I found some A-mazing dresses in unexpected places like their Prom and Homecoming section which perfectly fit the bill! My motto is "if your heart whispers to you - that's the one - buy it no matter where you found it". In fact, I found an incredible selection of red carpet worthy luxe gowns and happily enough they have white included in their color options! For more luxe gown options visit MUEE.com.

#4
THE BOHEMIAN BRIDE

The bohemian or boho chic bride is the free spirited millennial grandchild of the hippy bride. She is whimsical, wildly adventurous and is more in tune with nature as well as her spiritual self - and it's critical that these somewhat rustic elements be included in everything from her wedding dress to her accessories and even her wedding decor. She likes simple and ethereal silhouettes and may also show more skin than most opting for off the shoulder styles or beach wedding worthy backless gowns with both long sleeves - usually in lace - or with simple shoulder straps. Her look is ethereal yet unexpected, unconventional and gloriously exotic.

To complete the look you'll need to focus on the details. The bohemian bride will not wear a regular princess crown, instead, she dons a flower crown and though your first thought may be roses, more exotic blossoms can give the outfit a more rustic and fantasy-like quality. The real fun is found in the jewelry, the bohemian style can handle certain designs that other gowns cannot, such as heavy and lavishly layered necklaces, chokers layered with lariat necklaces, back necklaces, headpieces that rest above or on the forehead or on the back of the head composed of a chains, crystals, and even seashells and feathers; chained bridal belts, garters that are made of chains instead of traditional fabric, and ornate barefoot sandals. #5
THE ETHEREAL BRIDE

If you look up the word ethereal in the dictionary, you will find that it is defined as "extremely delicate and light in a way that seems too perfect for this world". The ethereal bride is drawn to a magical or mystical and otherworldly kind of beauty. She is, in essence.....a woman who embraces her inner goddess. Historically, the ethereal style has been traditionally popular in Roman times and in Greek mythology, hence the "goddess" title. Though this style has ancient roots, it has been revived and become quite a popular look on the runway recently; Marchesa's Fall 2016 Collection, Valentino's Spring 2016 Collection and Giambattista Valli's Fall 2016 Collection are a testament to this trend. Thankfully, MUEE.COM has this couture look available without having to pay couture prices! For more ethereal wedding dresses visit MUEE.COM. Quick tip to make sure you get the look just right - go light on the makeup, the ethereal style has angelic qualities such as keeping makeup as soft, light and natural as possible with emphasis on glowing skin and glossy lips. If you're not sure how to put it together you can check out this tutorial video so you can have a better idea.

#6
THE PRINCESS BRIDE

Our final look and the one that's the most recognizable is the Princess bride, and no I'm not talking about the movie - which is awesome by the way! But no, I'm talking about the Cinderella, fairytale inspired style which has been worn by the likes of practically every Disney princess - hence the "Princess Bride". The secret to this look is in the skirt's silhouette, the ball gown silhouette has become so iconic that it's the go-to style dress for QuinciaƱeras - the latin version of a young girl's sweet 16 - and it has been worn by royalty such as Princess Diana, Princess Mary of Teck, Princess Margaret and Princess Kate Middleton. For more princess style wedding dresses visit MUEE.COM

The Evolution of the Fashion Model

From Jamie Brewer to Jack Eyers, this has got to be the most significant and exciting cultural shift the Fashion World has ever seen. I mean, think about it, we are witnessing the evolution of the Fashion model right before our eyes!

Designer Carrie Hammer has just set the bar a little higher.  As a former advertising Sales Executive she's obviously learned a thing or two about the business. So when she started her own Business chic clothing line, she was going to do things differently. Not only did she get Gorgeous Women to model her Stylish Professional Designs a.k.a. Boss Babe Chic. But these Women are more than Gorgeous, they are Industry LeadersChief Executives, they are Powerhouses; they squash the status quo under the heels of their Louis Vuittons.

Talk is Chic - interview with Dora Sasu

When I first began this special interest fashion blog, it was merely to use as a creative outlet. A platform through which I could share my thoughts & interests without reservations... aaah, the perks of self publishing! As my blog's 1st Birthday rolled on by, a burgeoning of opportunities and life changing experiences have changed the way I see the world and my place in it. My last project was to help a local non-profit put together a fundraising Fashion Show. The "4th Annual Fashion Show and Silent Auction", benefiting DOC IT Foundation.

Young Artist Initiative - Empowering Women through Fashion

There is something so powerful about Fashion; it's not tangible, no, it is way more complex than that. As Coco Chanel once said, "Fashion is not something that exists in dresses only. Fashion is in the sky, in the street, fashion has to do with ideas, the way we live, what is happening." Fashion can also be an influential force that drives those ideas into action and inspire an entire generation.

Monokini 2.0 - a Bikini Design so innovative Swim Week 2016 wasn't ready for this

monokino2.o ganged hero IIHIH

If you keep up with the Fashion Calendar, or live in Miami then you know that we live in perpetual summer. It's like Fashion Week....year round. Miami is a fashion designer's haven wooing local & foreign fashionistas to gather together in swanky hotels and turn pools into runways to present the designs that will make waves in 2017. I'll be honest though, every year it feels like we keep seeing the same thing, reversible/chevron print/floral print/splatter print/or new print, how can I put this gently....i'm bored! Give me something truly different, truly unique, truly provocateur. I don't mean the "wear just a string between your cheeks" provocative but ignite my mind. Have you heard of the saying "ask and you shall receive"? Well...that's exactly what I got! So I now present to you....a Bikini design so innovativeSwim Week 2016 wasn't ready for this.

Giving Thanks Everyday

Thanksgiving Day is looked upon as a day to get together with family and friends to eat, sometimes dance, have a couple of drinks and just enjoy ourselves. This is not a bad thing, especially when it comes to getting together with your loved ones.

For the record...
The word Thanksgiving means - "The act of giving thanks; grateful acknowledgment of benefits or favors, especially to God." (Dictionary.com)

Unfortunately...as humans we tend to primarily focus on the things that go wrong.

The Evolution of the leather jacket

For as long as I can remember, the leather jacket has been a symbol of Strength..."Tough Chic" if you will. We long for the drop in temperature to pull the long adored  Fashion  staple  out  of  our  closets.
When it comes to leather jackets, the most common color that comes to mind is Black; a black leather jacket exudes the essence of it's sense of strength which the Staple embodies.

Studded and Crystallized are some of the embellishments which have come to adorn it. Belted and Textured have been some of the updates and experiments in the efforts to create new and interesting styles from the iconic staple. Recently though, there's been a surge in color boldness making for an interesting Fresh and Updated look.

Hello Lovelies - This is my Introduction

So, i've been pondering on the thought of starting a blog for quite some time now but I never got around to do so because, well, frankly....I just didn't know where to begin.
